Stainless Steel Panel Tank
5 m³ to 500+ m³
Modular SS304 and SS316 panels for food processing, pharmaceutical clean utilities, hospital potable, and any application where an FDA / GMP audit will look at the water source.

Modular SS304 or SS316 panels: bolted or welded construction. Ideal for food processing, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, and any application requiring the highest hygiene standards.
All tanks WRAS-certified. Custom capacities and configurations available.
When stainless steel is required, not optional
Most water-storage projects in the Philippines do not need stainless steel: GRP/FRP is food-safe, cheaper, and lighter. Stainless is the right answer in three cases:
- 01.Food and beverage processing with FDA oversight, where the GMP audit trail will inspect the water-storage material certificate.
- 02.Pharmaceutical clean utilities (PW, WFI feed, clean steam make-up) where USP and GMP standards mandate sanitary construction with documented surface finish.
- 03.Hospital potable systems in tertiary hospitals where infection-control protocol or DOH licensing specifies hygienic storage with verifiable cleanability.
For commercial potable (hotel, condo, mall, school), GRP/FRP is the correct, certified choice. Stainless is 60–100% more expensive per m³ for no functional benefit outside the three cases above. We will tell you if you're overspecifying.
SS304 vs SS316: choosing the grade
| Property | SS304 | SS316 |
|---|---|---|
| Composition | Cr 18% / Ni 8% | Cr 16% / Ni 10% / Mo 2% |
| Chloride resistance | Moderate (≤200 ppm) | High (≤1,000 ppm) |
| Cost vs SS304 | Baseline | +20 to 30% |
| Used for | General potable, dry food | Coastal sites, salty / chlorinated water, marine pharma |
Rule of thumb: if your site is within 5 km of the coast, or you chlorinate above 0.5 ppm continuously, or the water has measured chlorides above 200 ppm, specify SS316. Otherwise SS304 is correct.

Where it's installed
- Food and beverage: bottling lines, dairy, brewery process water, ice manufacturing
- Pharmaceutical: purified water (PW) feed storage, WFI generator feed, clean steam feed
- Hospitals: tertiary potable, dialysis feed-water storage (with downstream RO), infection-control isolation
- Hotels and resorts (luxury tier): premium potable where the brand standard requires stainless
How it's installed
- 01.Pad preparation: same load rating as GRP equivalent; stainless is lighter than HDG.
- 02.Panel delivery: packed with edge protection to prevent surface damage to the 2B finish.
- 03.Assembly: panels bolted with food-grade silicone or FDA EPDM gaskets, torqued in cross-pattern.
- 04.Surface protection: protective films left in place until commissioning to preserve the polished interior.
- 05.Passivation (optional): for pharma-grade applications, post-assembly nitric-acid passivation restores the chromium oxide layer at weld and bolt-hole sites.
- 06.Test and commissioning: pressure / leak test, sanitization with potable-grade hypochlorite or peracetic acid, water quality test, handover documents (including mill certs, passivation report, and gasket FDA listing).
Typical timeline: 7–10 days for 50 m³, 12–18 days for 250 m³.
Pricing: what drives the cost
Stainless tanks run 60–100% more per m³ than GRP equivalents. Key cost drivers:
- 01.Stainless grade: SS316 is 20–30% over SS304.
- 02.Surface finish: electropolish or bead-blast adds 15–30%.
- 03.Passivation: adds material and labour for pharma-grade jobs.
- 04.Documentation package: mill certs, surface roughness reports, gasket FDA listings for GMP audit.
- 05.Capacity: economies of scale weaker than GRP; stainless cost is more linear with volume.
Common questions
SS304 or SS316: how do I decide?
SS316 if your site is coastal, your water is chlorinated above 0.5 ppm continuously, or measured chlorides exceed 200 ppm. SS304 for everything else. We send the water-quality test request before quoting if the application is regulated.
Is the interior polished?
Standard is 2B mill finish (Ra ≤ 0.5 µm): acceptable for most food and pharma applications. Electropolish (Ra ≤ 0.4 µm) or bead-blast finish is available on request for stricter pharma specs.
Can I get mill certificates?
Yes: every stainless tank delivery includes mill certificates per panel batch, plus the gasket FDA listing letter and (for pharma jobs) the passivation report.
Is stainless lighter than GRP?
Slightly. Stainless panel weight is comparable per m² but tanks are typically built shorter (max 4 m). Total filled weight is dominated by the water (1 t/m³) regardless of panel material: pad design is similar.
Do you do FDA / GMP audit support?
We provide all material and assembly documentation auditors typically request. If your GMP consultant needs site-walkthrough support during the audit, we can attend.
Pair it with
Stainless tanks are usually paired with sanitary-grade pumps: SS316 wetted parts, mechanical seals to GMP spec. We supply CDL stainless-shaft booster pumps or Grundfos sanitary-series pumps as the application requires.
